Down Camogie team out play Armagh

National Camogie League
Down V Armagh

On Sunday In Perfect Conditions For February Down Out Played Armagh In Ballyholland To Get The National League Off To A Good Start. The Final Score Of 3-10 To 0-6 Didn't Reflect The Effort Put In By The Down Camog's As Down Missed As Many As They Scored. Armagh Got Off To A Good Start With A Couple Of Points Before Down Found Themselves And With Some Excellent Teamwork And Individual Play By Both Teams Down Went In At Half-Time In The Lead 1-6 To Armagh's 4 Pts. Down Then Continuted Where They Left Off And Scored At Ease As Armagh Had No Answer For The Now In Shape And Confident Play Of Down Armagh Could Only Score 2 More Points Which Came Late Into The Second Half.

The Managment Were Well Pleased With The Performance Of The Team And Many Of The Debutants Were Impressive. Team - Thereasa Mcgowan Karen Mcmullan Pauline Green Moya Maginn Karen Murray Jenny Braniff Debbie Kelland Colleen Reilly Lisa Mccrickard (0-1) Clare Mcgovern Finnoula Carr (0-2) Catriona Mccrickard(0-1) Kelly O'higgins Cathy Mullholand (1-0) Catherine Mcgourty (1-6) Subs Used Mairin Mcaleenan (1-0) Angeline Fearon Nuala Mallon Clare Mcgovern Orla Maginn. Down's Match Is Against Clare In Westmeath.
