Ballyvarley Hurling Notes 24th April

Ballyvarley’s
under 14 hurlers get their
league underway this week. Their
first game is against
Castlewellan
on Wednesday 26 th April.
Players are asked to be at
Ballyvarley field at 6.30pm with a
7pm throw in.
The under 14 hurlers competed well
in the feile
last weekend, winning their games
against
Clonduff and Newry by eight
and ten points respectively to no
score. They were unlucky to lose to
Kilclief
in the opening game before narrowly
losing by two points to Warrenpoint
despite a strong overall
performance. Thanks to all the
parents who helped transport the
boys to the
Feile.
Coaching still continues every
Saturday for the under 10 and 12s at
11am at St Patrick’s College
Banbridge.
The Ballyvarley/Ballela joint Minor
team have a bye this coming Monday (
1/5/06). Their next game is away to
Warrenpoint on Monday 8 th
May.
Ballyvarley seniors won last week
against
Portaferry with close to a
full strength side. They hurled well
from start to finish with two points
the margin of victory. Their next
game is at home to Newry Shamrocks
on Tuesday 2nd
May (throw in at 7 pm),
followed by another home game on
Tuesday 9 th May
against
Ballycran.
Summer Camp
This year the GAA is running a
number of summer camps
for under
age players in Gaelic games. They
are now under the banner of ‘
Cul Camps’.
Clann
na
Banna are holding one from 3
rd July to 7 th
July. It will run from 10am to
2.30pm each of these days and be
delivered by county coaches. This
Cul Camp
will cater for Hurling as well as
Gaelic football if enough interest
is shown. If you are a member of
