Senior Hurling
The Senior hurlers play Ballycran at home on Tuesday 24th June. Throw in at 7.30pm. Ballyvarley senior Hurling training continues every Sunday (12.15pm).

Senior Gaelic Football
The Aghaderg senior footballers played at home to Ballykinler on Friday and in the end won comfortably.

Their next game is away to Bright on 20th June. Throw in at 7.30pm. Training is on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Minor footballers play Saval in the league on Wednesday 25th June. Game in Tullylish.
Underage Hurling/Camogie Tournament
On Saturday an Internal Club Hurling/Camogie tournament was held for under 10s and 12s at Ballyvarley. The juveniles were divided up into 6 teams, 3 in each group with two games on at the same time on the main pitch and training field. Teams and managers were: Kilkenny – Kevin O’Neill, Offaly – Gerard O’Neill, Galway – Peter McConville, Tipperary – Pat McGrath, Waterford – Kathleen O’Meara, Cork – Eunan McConville. After playing each other twice the 1st and 2nd placed teams played the respective 2nd and 1st placed teams in the semi-finals. The two 3rd played teams got an extra game by playing each other in the 5th/6th place playoff. The winners were the Cork team beating Galway in the final.
A prize draw was held at half-time during the final to raise funds for Underage Playing Kit. The prizes of Club Tracksuit, Club Hoodie and Club Training Top were kindly sponsored by Cuchulainn Sportswear.
Thanks to the sponsors of the event, Supervalu and TAL Limited. Thanks also to Kieran and Martina Lennon for organising a Barbeque for the youngsters afterwards and to the Parents of the young hurlers and camogs who organised teas/drinks/snacks throughout the event. It was a great day enjoyed by all and it was good to see the future hurling and camogie players in action.
Underage Hurling
The under 10, 12 and 14 hurlers continue to train away.
The under 14 hurlers have a bye this week followed by the Under 14 Championship on 25th June. The under 16 hurlers next league match is an away game on 20th June against Newry Shamrocks.

Underage Camogie
The under 14 Camogs and under 12 Camogs continue to train away.
The under 14 camogs play Bryansford at home on Tuesday 17th June.

Hurling/Camogie Coaching
The ability coaching programme for 7 to 12 year old camogs and hurlers has commenced with great attendances and enjoyment had by all. Anyone interested in learning the skills of Camogie and Hurling are invited to these coaching sessions on Saturday mornings @ 11.00. Coaches interested in assisting with the programme would be very welcome. For further information contact Pat McGrath.
There are also mid-week coaching sessions for hurlers and camogs. They are at the following times:
Under 12s - Monday Night 7:00 – 8:15 – Contact Pat McGrath(Hurling)/Marty Malone (Camogie)

Underage Gaelic Football
The under 14s play Newry Mitchels away on Thursday.
The under 16s play Longstome away on Tuesday 1st July.

The under 12s next game is Attical away on Sunday 22nd June.

Under 12 footballers train on Thursdays from 7-8pm.
Under 8/10 coaching on Sundays from 12 – 1pm.

Ladies Football
Football for girls aged 10 – 14 years has commenced and anyone looking details of it should contact Ciara Devlin 07511477877.
U14 girls football at home to Bright on Wednesday 25th June. Game starts at 7.00pm.
U14 girls football at home to Drumgath on Sunday 29th June at 12.30pm.

County Hurling
The South Down senior hurlers played away to Warwickshire outside Birmingham on Saturday. The game finished with a comfortable 10 point win for the South Down hurlers.

The Nicky Rackard Cup begins for the South Down hurlers on Saturday June 28th against Leitrim.

The Down minor and senior hurlers played in their respective Ulster finals on Sunday against Antrim. The Down minors lost well, but the Senior’s went close with Antrim just having too much at the end.

Club Merchandise
Shorts and socks in club colours will be available in Ballyvarley Hall at 12 noon to 1pm every Sunday. All juvenile and senior players should be kitted out in club colours.

GAA Cul Camp (The Official Down GAA Summer Camp)
This year the club will host one of the summer camps during the week 7th – 11th July and all camogs, footballers and hurlers between the ages of 5 and 14 are invited. The cost is £30.00 per child unfortunately there is no reduction for 2nd, 3rd child etc.
Each day coaching lasts from 10.00 – 2.30 with a 30 minute break for lunch @ 12.00. Each child will also receive a Cul Camp Kit i.e. jersey, shorts, socks and bag.
Qualified coaches from County Down will be present to teach the skills of the games.
As there are limited places you are advised to book early, application forms are available from team managers and the club Co-ordinator Aidan Hegarty.
