Aghaderg GFC and Ballyvarley Hc Club Notes
Senior Hurling
The Ballyvarley senior hurlers had their game against Ballygalget called off on Tuesday. The Senior hurlers play Ballycran at home on Tuesday 16th June. Throw in at 7.30pm. Ballyvarley senior Hurling training continues every Sunday (12.15pm).

Senior Gaelic Football
The Aghaderg senior footballers played Dromara on Friday. The game finished 1-11 to 1-11. The footballers next match is at home to Ballykinler on Friday 13th June. Throw in at 7.30pm. Training is on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm.
Underage Hurling/Camogie Tournament
Saturday June 14th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Ballyvarley. Come along and see the future hurling and camogie players in action. Refreshments served. Everyone welcome.
Under 10 Camogie Tournament
Aghaderg Camogs hosted a very successful Camogie blitz on Saturday. Ten teams participated with each having six games. Teams included An Riocht, Ballycran and host club Aghaderg. The new training pitch was utilised and three games went on at the same time. Fun was had by all and hopefully this will continue to progress the youngsters camogie skills.
Underage Hurling
The under 10, 12 and 14 hurlers continue to train away.
The under 16 hurlers next league match is an away game on 20th June against Newry Shamrocks.

Underage Camogie
The under 14 Camogs and under 12 Camogs continue to train away.
The under 14 camogs play Bryansford at home on Tuesday 17th June.

Hurling/Camogie Coaching
The ability coaching programme for 7 to 12 year old camogs and hurlers has commenced with great attendances and enjoyment had by all. Anyone interested in learning the skills of Camogie and Hurling are invited to these coaching sessions on Saturday mornings @ 11.00. Coaches interested in assisting with the programme would be very welcome. For further information contact Pat McGrath.
There are also mid-week coaching sessions for hurlers and camogs. They are at the following times:
Under 12s - Monday Night 7:00 – 8:15 – Contact Pat McGrath(Hurling)/Marty Malone (Camogie)

Underage Gaelic Football
The under 14s play Attical at home on Thursday.
The under 16s play at home to Drumgath on Tuesday 17th June.
The under 12s next game is at home to St Michael’s on the 15th June.

Under 12 footballers train on Thursdays from 7-8pm.
Under 8/10 coaching on Sundays from 12 – 1pm.

Ladies Football
Football for girls aged 10 – 14 years has commenced and anyone looking details of it should contact Ciara Devlin 07511477877.
U14 girls football away to Drumaness on Sunday 15th June at 12.30pm.

County Hurling
The South Down senior hurlers played against Wicklow on Sunday in the Leinster Shield. Despite playing very well the hurlers eventually lost to a strong Wicklow team.

South Down play this Saturday away to Warwickshire before beginning the Nicky Rackard Cup on the 28th June against Leitrim.

The Down minor and senior hurlers play in their respective Ulster finals on Sunday 15th June.


Club Merchandise
Shorts and socks in club colours will be available in Ballyvarley Hall at 12 noon to 1pm every Sunday. All juvenile and senior players should be kitted out in club colours.


GAA Cul Camp (The Official Down GAA Summer Camp)
This year the club will host one of the summer camps during the week 7th – 11th July and all camogs, footballers and hurlers between the ages of 5 and 14 are invited. The cost is £30.00 per child unfortunately there is no reduction for 2nd, 3rd child etc.
Each day coaching lasts from 10.00 – 2.30 with a 30 minute break for lunch @ 12.00. Each child will also receive a Cul Camp Kit i.e. jersey, shorts, socks and bag.
Qualified coaches from County Down will be present to teach the skills of the games.
As there are limited places you are advised to book early, application forms are available from team managers and the club Co-ordinator Aidan Hegarty.
