An
injury time point from John Haughey
saw Annaclone create a major shock in
the Down SFC quarer-final when they
defeated a fancied Castlewellan side
on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-9.
And
second division Annaclone deserved their
win. They were up for the game right
from the start, competed well all over
the field, and in the end got their
just rewards. They led by two points
at the interval – 0-6 to 0-4.
The
second-half only really came to life
in the closing ten minutes when both
sides went all out for the win. In the
end, Annaclone held their composure
and were rewarded with a late injury
time point for a tremendous win.
