ACPRL2: Annaclone 2-05 Carryduff 1-10
Annaclone’s reserves just
missed out on another victory on Sunday
at home to Carryduff. Taking to the
field without regulars Kevin McNeill,
Eamon McGivern and Paul Byrne due to
senior commitments, the first half was a
bit of a struggle. The home team’s only
score came from Dan McCusker and then
they lost him to injury shortly
afterwards. Noel Byrne’s full back line
came under severe pressure in the half
and Mark McNeill’s goal was threatened
on more than one occasion but they
managed to keep they managed to keep
their goal in tact.
At half time there was 7
points between the teams but Annaclone
started the half well with a great goal
from Tony Tumilty. Points from Gerald
Fegan and Sean Pyers closed the gap to
three points and Gerald Fegan levelled
the game up with a fine goal with less
than 10 minutes left. But then Annaclone
went to sleep and let Carryduff through
for a goal in the dying minutes to
ensure the points were heading north.
