Coaching coup at An Riocht! 14/02/2004

‘Best Practice For Best Performance’

--- Looking Outside The Box ---
--- ‘Quality V Quantity --- Skill V Athleticism. ---
---
Burnout! --- Too Much, Too Young? ---
---
What Happens To Our Bodies When We Train Too Hard?’ ---

A 45 minute presentation by doctor Niall Moyna followed by discussion and questions & answers will take place at 4:45pm on Saturday 21st February in the function room at An Riochts Dunavil premises.

This coaching initiative is open to players, coaches, managers, parents and other interested people.

Niall Moyna is senior lecturer in exercise physiology, centre for sports science and health Dublin City University; head of the sports science department at Dublin City University; DCU Sigerson football team coach.

He was the lead speaker at the GAA national coaching conference in November and at the Ulster GAA coaching & games development symposium. In all over 1,000 coaches attended his last three seminars.

Award winning GAA journalist and Offaly All Ireland winning manager, Eugene McGee, credited Moyna with giving one of the most important GAA statements he had heard in the last twenty years.

The Dublin juvenile board has adopted his competition based on rules framed to generate skill acquisition.

Moyna has tasked himself to change the anachronistic mindset of coaches and parents regarding youth development with an attractive realistic successful alternative.

Contact Vince, the co-ordinator, for further details or see you there.
