This weeks matches include:
Wednesday minors in Burren; Thursday
U16 v Castlewellan in the town;
Friday seniors in Clonduff; Saturday
U8 & U10 in Rostrevor; Sunday
U12 in Annaclone and seconds in
Warrenpoint; Monday seniors in
Longstone; Tuesday U14 in Bosco.
*The U14 lost in Atticall on Tuesday
evening, 5:11 to 3:5. Paul Allen,
Stephen Corr, Stephen Mc Veigh
and Mark Mc Kay were An Riochts
top players.
There was no referee for the match,
hardly the best start to the season.
*The U12 lost in Longstone and
again there was no referee. The
boys were not as hardy as the
girls whose camogie match preceded
them and after a bad start they
never got going with the homesters
running out clear winners. Best
for An Riocht were Philip Murnion,
James Mc Culla, Ryan Donnelly,
Ronan Mc Alinden and Kieran Clarke
though both teams deserve praise
for turning out on such a poor
day.
The U12 football practice on Thursday
is at Kittys Road.
*The U16 footballers made heavy
weather of defeating Bryansford
and were flattered by the final
scoreline. They completed an unwanted
hat trick as for the third match
in five days there was no referee.
Scorers were Declan Ross 2:7,
Conor Sloan 3:2, Darren Cunningham
0:3, Christopher Killen 0:1, Adrian
Arterton 0:1, John Francis White
0:1.
*The minors won one and lost one
in the Feis sevens. Liatroim have
pulled out of the league.
*The thirds lost to Atticall seconds
in Atticall on Sunday evening
nine points to three. Atticall
led four two at half time and
we had wind advantage to come.
Raymond Sloan fired over to leave
the minimum in it on the restart
but wholesale changes, seven substitutions,
that were made to ensure everyone
got a game meant we never got
going in the second half.
Neil Cousins, Ciaran Cunningham,
Jim Sloan and Michael Murney were
our best.
*The seconds lost to Bryansford
by four points. Neill Doran had
a good first half kicking five
long range points.
*The senior footballers lost in
Burren by three points. Like last
weeks match it could have been
won.
