Its now two wins and two losses
for the Reserves and a visit to
league leaders Burren coming up
on Sunday. Damian Sherry, Sean
Clarke and Aidan O’Hanlon
were best in defence while up
front Kevin Flanagan and Ciaran
Walsh worked hardest. Of the five
subs introduced Noel Mc Ardle
made the biggest impact and it
will be good to have him back
on a regular basis.
Mayobridge played with the breeze
and after an even enough opening
quarter hour they began to get
on top. Paudi Bradley goaled when
he snatched a rebound and drilled
it to the net and Robbie Coulter
flashed another shot wide off
the post. In the next attack Gavin
Finnegan tipped a goal bound shot
around the post and Coulter converted
from the fifty. John Quinn was
guilty of another glaring miss
as the visitors threatened a rout.
At the break we trailed 1:7 to
0:3. Paul Rooney in the Mayobridge
goals saved well low at his near
post after good strong play from
Kevin Flanagan on the restart
and eight minutes in another Flanagan
run resulted in a penalty expertly
dispatched by Neill Doran. When
Michael Walsh goaled at the other
end Paddy Cole replied in kind
for An Riocht and with a quarter
hour remaining there were five
points in it. In the final fifteen
minutes the ‘Bridge made
more of their chances and despite
losing a man held on for the win.
