Games & Coaching
The Foundation Coaching Course
will take place over two evenings
next week.
The next Games and Coaching
sub-committee meeting on Monday 6th
March has been switched because of
an important meeting on that night
at Castlewellan for Club youth
officials and main Club coaches.
Gerard, Conrad, Peter and Don
attended the ‘Go Games’
demonstration in Castlewellan on
Sunday.
The PRFL starts with the Seconds
visiting Downpatrick on Sunday
coming and the Seniors get underway
on Easter Monday 17th
April at home to Saval.
The Minors played Rostrevor on
Sunday losing by two points, 2:10 to
2:8. We started slowly and goals
against in the early and later
stages of the first half left us
with just too much to do after the
break. Scuffing a penalty badly wide
did not help our cause but credit
the players in a rousing final
quarter when they ran at the Reds
and unlocked their defence with
goals from Damian Sherry and Kyle
Morris and a series of points, the
pick from a mighty Michael Rodgers
shot. Team: Joe Cole Gerard Keenan
Michael Rodgers Chris Cunningham
Gary Cunningham Damian Sherry Conor
Phillips Conor Doyle Darren
Cunningham Darren White Kyle Morris
Dave Morgan Adrian Arterton Conor
Sloan Darren Doyle. Subs Eamon Quinn
Diarmuid Flanagan. Fergal Doyle,
Chris Killen and Liam Harper were
cup tied with St. Louis while Conor
Walsh, Declan Ross, Johnny White and
Conor Mc Veigh were all out injured.
Other games in this minor mini
league are home to Mayobridge on 12th
March and away to Shamrocks on 19th
March. The Thirds start with a
challenge match against Ballykinlar
on Sunday 19th March at
Dunavil.
Camogie
There have been good turn outs
at the various practices so keep up
the good work. Sticks and helmets
now available from the Club. Down

Thursday.

officers training course at
Castlewellan.

be paid up members.

Disco in the Archways on Saturday18th
March. The next F&S meeting is on

Well Done to Ailish in the Solo
Singing competition at the Down Scor
Sinsir finals in Dundrum on Sunday

Saturday Club
The Saturday opening for
teenagers has proved a
relative success and will continue
at least until the end of March. The
project gives young people somewhere
to go at the weekend to play pool,
snooker, indoor football, watch
football on the big screen, relax,
etc. without the presence and
temptation of alcoholic drink being
on offer.

Saturday we played Irvinestown YC,
