Maths
class. 7pm to 8pm ‘seisiun’in
upstairs room for all ages. Music,
song, verse, dance, an hours varied
cultural activity to be enjoyed. If
you have an instrument bring it with
you, guitars, tin whistles, flutes,
recorders, etc. If not it doesn’t
matter, there will be musicians
there. Come along and have a look.

Saturday 11th:
Grounds work continues from 9am for
a few hours. All available Club
members are asked to come along and
give a hand. The Youth Club will be
open as a drop in facility on
Saturdays from 2pm to10pm to provide
somewhere for young people to go.
Among the activities available are
snooker, pool, table tennis, big
screen TV, cards, indoor football,
cooking facility, etc.
Sunday 12th:

Finance & Social committee meeting
7:30pm. Grounds & Development
committee meeting 8pm. All members

Games &
Coaching
The Foundation
Coaching Course will take place the
last week of the month.
Nine of our coaches attended
the ‘Fitness & the Ball’ coaching
course last Monday. Gerard from the
U12s; Brendan from the U14s; Damian,
Eric and Noel from the U16s; Jim,
Nick and Peter from the U18s; and
Brendan from the Reserves. Gerard
went on to attend the Coaching
Seminar on Saturday.
Camogie
There have been
good turn outs at the various
practices so keep up the good work.
Sticks and helmets now available
from the Club.
Indoor Hurling
There is a
primary school indoor hurling
tournament in Dunavil on Friday 10th
February.
Finance &
Social
Membership fees
are now due. Supporters as well as
players should be paid up members.
The next
fundraiser is the poker classic on
18th February and the
next disco is on 18th
March. There is also a ‘Night at the
Dogs’ on Saturday 6th
May.
The next Finance & Social meeting is
on
Monday 13th February at
7:30pm.
Scor
The Club took
part in Scor Sinsir in Longstone on
Sunday. Thanks to all our
participants. We had four entrants,
a quiz team, two solo singers and a
recitation. Well done to Ailish,
Brendan, Elaine, Michael, Sharon.
Gaelic Telecom
Club members will
be contacted over the next week by
Gaelic Telecom regarding their Croke
Park endorsed scheme.
Dinner Dance
The Annual Awards

Grounds &
Development
The next
committee meeting is on Monday 13th
February at 8pm. It is only three
weeks until the League starts so
time is running short for getting
all the necessary work done. Work
continues on Saturday mornings, a
job to suit everyone, so get
involved and give a hand.
Gift-Aid
There has been an
encouraging response to the Gift-Aid
programme and those involved in
recruiting members are requested to
attend a meeting in the Club on
Monday at 7:30pm.

February at 7:15pm.
Senior Members
As her project
for her Senior Members course Louise
has organised a Karaoke contest in
the Youth Club on Friday 17th
February at 7pm open to everyone
aged seven to fourteen with good
prizes for the most entertaining
acts. Vicki has organised a ‘Mary
Jane’ Fashion Show in the Archways
on Thursday 2nd March at
7:30pm as her project with brand
names at a quarter the price. Dave,
Joanna and Lisa have completed their
projects. Leanne, Laura and Damian
have their projects almost ready.
Mourne Youth
Forum & Kilkeel Youth Providers
There was a
meeting in React on Thursday about
substance abuse in the area and a
meeting of Mourne Youth Providers on
Wednesday, 8th, to
discuss future projects.
Orienteering
There has been
some interest in the orienteering
project on 4th March and
this is a last call for applicants
to take part as the entry form must
be returned at the weekend.
Saturday Club
The Saturday
opening for teenagers has proved a
relative success and will continue
at least until the start of March.
The project gives young people
somewhere to go at the weekend to
play pool, snooker, indoor football,
watch football on the big screen,
relax, etc. without the presence and
temptation of alcoholic drink being
on offer.
New Activity
Starting this
Thursday, 9th, from 7pm
to 8pm in the Senior Room (upstairs)
at the Youth Club there’s an hours
ceol agus craic for all ages. Music,
song, verse, dance, an hours varied
