Games & Coaching
The Seniors lost a game in
Rostrevor, 1:10 to 1:6. The
defenders stood up well in the
tackle but handling was poor and
forwards were too often found behind
with few of the twenty five players
participating staking claims for
automatic selection. The best that
could be said in the heavy
conditions was that we stuck at it
and almost goaled at the finish to
add to a great strike from Ciaran Mc
Veigh midway through the first half.
In the PRFL game v Burren we failed
to add to our opening win in
Downpatrick. Ahead two nil with
points from Neil Doran and Noel Mc
Ardle we turned around trailing by
five, 0:2 to 1:4. Chris Carroll
gaoling off a Glenn Mc Mahon pass
for the visitors. As the conditions
worsened we made little headway in
the second half. Paddy Cole and
James Cunningham points cancelled by
like Burren scores. Then ten minutes
from time Michael Harper got a fist
to a Noel Mc Ardle cross and the
ball flew to the Burren net. Though
there were now only two points
between the teams it was Burren who
completed the scoring with two more
points for a 1:8 to 1:4 win.
The Thirds game fell through for the
third week in a row. Another will be
arranged for this Sunday.
The Minors match with Rostrevor was
postponed due to Reds unplayable
pitch.
Grange PS has begun practices at
Dunavil ahead of the Primary Schools
league.
