* There is a NCFE Level One certificate in Drug Awareness course on 24th & 31st July and 7th & 14th August. This is aimed at teenagers and older and will be delivered by Lucinda at the Nautilus Centre. The aim is to develop an awareness of drug use by looking at the types of drugs and why they are used, the social and personal effects of drug use and how these are commonly portrayed, and perceptions of and responses to drug use. There are still a couple of places available.
* Protect Life ASSIST Training will be held on 18th and 19th September. Places will fill up quickly so give notice if interested as soon as possible.
* Redrock Training Consultancy will hold a ‘Kids to the Rescue’ first aid skills course at KYC if enough young people express an interest. Aged 10 to 18 years, don’t delay, register today.
* The Juniors Summer Scheme is underway with visits to the Cinema, to Cranfield Beach and to the Magical Maize Maze taking place, and centre based activities which included a drugs awareness interactive session with Lucinda, arts and crafts, minor games and a drumming workshop.
* Croke Park is running a photographic competition for primary school age children with prizes of All Ireland tickets, a digital camera etc. All you have to do is capture any GAA sports moment relating to your Club.
