ARDGLASS RETAIN PAT SHARVIN CUP
Ardglass retained the Pat Sharvin cup on
sunday evening after easily seeing of
their hosts Kilclief.The home side
could'nt contain the talents of Ardgass'
teenage talents Laim mullan,Mickey Magee
and Matthew Rooney.While team captain
Chris Deegan dominated the midfield
sector and his brother Stephen
controlled the defence throughout.The
final margin of seven points was only
kept down by Kilclief's netminder
Steenson making a string of fine saves
and Kieran Polly's long range free
taking
The reserves had a comfortable 11 point
win over Carryduff after a poor first
half a Benny Magee goal brought ardglass
to within two points of carryduff at the
break.In the second half the experinced
Chris polly switched to midfield and
this swung the game in Ardglass' favour
as Ardglass piled on the scores
carryduff were held scoreless in the
last quarter of the game
The u-12s lost to Loughinisland in the
east down championship in a competive
game Shane Taggart and Mark Deegans were
the best players for Ardglass. The u-14s
lost to Tecconnaght in the league by 3
points. Goals from Conall Feenan and
Stephen Rooney kept Ardglass in the game
but they were'nt enough to finish
teconnaught off. The u-16s also lost at
home to drumaness in another close game
Martin halpin and Philip Curran played
well along with Mark Armstrong
