Ardglass 0-8
Ardglass lost their
second match of the
season against a strong
and determined Tullylish
. Both teams fought hard
for possession and
scores throughout the
game with the home side
pulling away in the
final quarter.
In
the first half both
teams hit many wides and
the game was littered
with frees which slowed
the pace of the game
however when there was
some periods of good
play from both teams as
they entered the break
tied at 0-5 each.
Tullylish started the
second half with a score
from the throw in and
another from the
resulting kick out drew
level again through
Deegans and Rooney
before Tullylish hit
three unanswered points.
Ardglass had only a
Michael Magee point in
the last quarter as
Tullylish added three
more scores to ease to
victory.

Dundrum/Ballykinler 2-
14 Ardglass 3-10
Ardglass were unlucky to
lose by a point after a
spirited performance saw
the led for large spells
of the game. Ardglass
started well but
couldn’t convert any
chances and Dundrum
responded with three
points. Ardglass
Answered quickly with
two goals from Christian
O’Connor and Stephen
Rooney to take the lead.
Both teams exchanged
four points as Ardglass
went into the break with
a three point advantage.
Dundrum came out of the
blocks quickly scoring
four unanswered points
before O’Connor and Lee
Murphy scored points for
the visitors. Billy
Finnegan added a goal
for Ardglass to extend
their lead however the
home side fired back
with two goals to ensure
a tight finish as both
sides exchanged points
the home just did enough
to see of their east
coast rivals.
Ardglass had strong
performers in Paulo
Ross, Martin Halpin and
Ciarian Mallaghan at the
back and Shay Lappin and
Philip Curran in attack.
The
under 14s had a bye this
week and the reserves
was postponed leaving
the only other match to
be played in the club
this week was a friendly
challenge between the
Senior ladies and Under
16 boys on Saturday
evening. In a fast
flowing and entertaining
game the boys came out
on top as both teams
enjoyed the occasion.
After
some confusion the Go
Games coaching night for
all children aged 6-12
has been set for
Tuesday’s at 6.20 until
7.30.

GAA football summer camp
