Ardglass GAC Notes

Senior Challenge Match - Ardglass 0-11 Drumaness 1-6

This was the seniors first outing of the season and was a competitive work out. The game was always close with both sides approaching the game with a positive manner. Ardglass were not at full strength but looked composed throughout Chris Deegans and new team captain Stephen Smyth were influential throughout as Stephen Deegans controlled the defence alongside David Feenan and Conall Milligan.

Ardglass missed several goal chances in the second half and could finish off the visitors. Overall it was a good high tempo match and something to build on for the rest of the season.

The match was also a chance to raise some valuable funds for the Greenhill Appeal fund. As all patrons at the match made a donation to the fund . The Committee of Ardglass GAC would like to thank all those who donated and especially the players and Member s of Drumaness GAC.

Minor League -

The minors had a convincing win over Tecconnaught on Sunday. Which leaves them well placed in the league. Daniel Murphy had a sound game in goals and was supported well by Armstrong and Lappin in defence. Magee and Telford dominated midfield and gave Fitzsimmons and Rooney plenty of supply in the forward line.

Under 16 challenge match -

The under 16s had their first pre season game and although they lost to a physically stronger Drumaness side they showed signs of improvement on last year. They showed a great work rate when defending against the wind and produced some well worked scores throughout the match.
