Ardglass GAC Notes

Under 14s win East Down League

Ardglass annexed their section of the East Down U-14 League with another solid performance on Thursday past, they went into the game knowing a win would secure the top spot and once again bring silverware to the Lecale club. The boys started brightly with a well-struck goal from Tony Darragh after two minutes, however their prospects took a tumble when after only four minutes when they had a midfielder sent off.

Ardglass took a long time to settle after this and while they continued to push forward and score a further 1-3 they appeared somewhat vulnerable at the back and allowed Teconnaught back into the game, the half time score was 2-3 to 2-0.

The second half saw normal service resume from the Ardglass strike force and to their credit racked up 6-8 without reply, credit must go to the defence who tightened up at the back and refused to conceded any scores and afforded the Teconnaught forwards little space.

Team: Adrian Finnegan, Peter O’Shea, Chris Armstrong, David Armstrong, Mark Crangle, Chris Kearney, Stewart Curran, Ciaran Mallaghan, David Kearney, Daniel Maginn, Stephen Magennis, Conaill Feenan, Mark Deegans, Tony Darragh, Shane Taggart
