Ardglass Notes (15/06/2008)
SFL Division 3 (
13/06/2008 ): Ardglass 1.11 Carryduff
1.07
Carryduff paid visit to Ardtole Memorial
Park on Friday evening, but it was
the home side Ardglass who came away
with full points from the top of the
table Division 3 encounter. Michael
Magee opened the scoreline in the
first half scoring 2 points only to
see the visitors respond instantly
by taking a goal around the 7 minute
mark. Ardglass were quick to react,
only to see midfielder Michael Magee’s
shot strike the post moments later.
Ardglass finished the half with points
from Chris Taggert and Mark Feenan
however it was the visitors Carryduff
who took the lead by 2 points going
into the second half. Defender Malachy
Crangle was replaced by Martin McVickers
at half time and the second half seen
Chris Taggert see red. Midfielder
and Ardglass man of the match Michael
Magee continued the scoring throughout
the second half. Friday 13 th is apparently
unlucky for some, although not for
Ardglass’s number 13 Liam Mullan
who slotted over many vital second
half points for the seasiders. The
turning point in the game came from
a superb burst of energy through the
Ardglass defence with Chris Deegan
making a great clearance resulting
in Ardglass’s goal from Ciaran
Dorian. Liam Mullan later set Ardglass
4 points ahead with 6 minutes to go.
All round great performances came
from Ardglass’s Chris Deegan,
Ciaran Dorian, Liam Mullan, Aaron
Beatie and Sean Paul Halpin. Senior
training will continue as normal on
Monday and Wednesday evenings from
6:45pm at Ardtole. Ardglass will travel
to neighbours Saul on Friday evening
in their next Division 3 encounter.
U14FL (
12/06/2008 ): Bright 1.04 Ardglass
5.08
Ardglass young Under 14 lads made
the short journey across to local
side Bright on Thursday evening to
come away with the 2 points. Mark
Deegan had a superb game at full back.
Other great all round performances
came from Jordin Curran and Mark Crangle.
The Under 14’s will continue
to train on Tuesday evenings at Ardtole.
