Aughlisnafin Club Notes 13th July 2008

Aughlisnafin were away to St Johns last Thursday evening. In wet conditions St Johns won 3-14 to 0-4. The Fin were unable to call on the services of 3 regulars Sean Ladd , Marty Malone and Kevin Walker and their presence was sorely missed.

The margin of defeat would have been a bigger only for the goalkeeping exploits of Aidan Small who turned in yet another man of the match display. Paddy Mooney also made a last ditch clearance off the line. There were two excellent scores from Shane Mooney and James Brannigan also chipped in with two points but this was a poor display from the Fin after some good performances of late.

Next league game is on Friday 25th July against Bright but before then we play Bright in the Connolly cup competition in Ballykinlar. The full squad are requested to make themselves available for selection.

The youth training is cancelled this week and will resume on Wednesday 23rd July at 5.45 pm to.

The club extends its congratulations to one of its youth coaches, Jackie Lismore and to her husband Jamie on the recent birth of their daughter Jessica. We look forward to your return after a well earned rest !!
