There was no jackpot winner and Stephen McEvoy won £10. Sean Burns
won the sellers draw. This weeks draw will be in The Anglers Rest
with the numbers drawn by Barney McCusker and Patsy McGivern.

Committee Meeting
Club Committee meetings continue in the Clubhouse every Monday Night
at 8 pm. We cannot stress how important it is that a full committee
is in attendance as we finalise plans for two major events this year.
We will be discussing final arrangements for the official pitch
opening on Sunday 6th May and also we need sponsors and teams in for
the Golf Classic.
We would like any parishioners who can help out in any way to attend
this meeting as there is a lot of work to be done. This is also
putting a large financial restraint on the club so we would welcome
any financial backing from any local businesses or persons. Many
thanks.

Managers for 2007
Bernard Mc Cusker will continue as the Camogie manager as they
contend with life in Division 2 this season after consecutive
promotions. The Girls have been training hard in anticipation in what
they hope will be a long and successful season.
Malachy Magee (Sen) has taken charge of the Senior hurlers in what
will be a tough year for the young team. Training has been ongoing in
the gym and on the field in preparation for a hard season in Division
1.
Joe Cosgrave has taken the challenge of Minor Management this season.
Ballela have joined forces with Ballyvarley at the Minor Level this
season and the club has high hopes for the minor squad this year.
John Rooney has stepped up to U-16 Management this year and will
again work in tandem with Ballyvarley. This is a young squad and we
hope they can stay together for the upcoming seasons.
Martin Mc Anearney has agreed to train and manage the U-14ʼs in
association with Ballyvarley again.
Brendan Mc Clure is continuing as the U-12 and U-10 manager this year
as he continues with the development of the young teams. Brendan has
done a great job over the past few years and we are sure he will
continue to develop the players.

Camogie Training
Training will continue every Sunday morning @ 9.30 am at the field
for all senior & minor Camogie players in preparation for their first
league match of the season at home to Clonduff on Monday 30th April.

or on the notice board at the clubhouse.

6.30 to 7.30 in Ballela.

Banbridge Golf Club. For more information regarding sponsorship or
entering a team please contact any Committee member. The sponsorship
fees are: £100 to sponsor a Green, £50 to sponsor a Tee-Box, £150 for
the 1st Tee-Box. To enter a Four ball will cost £140 which includes:
A round of golf, meal, entertainment and prize giving. Top prizes to
be won and once again we urge parishioners to support this event.
Would any member or player who has teams or sponsors to enter please
contact Bernard Mc Cusker ASAP.

Official Pitch Opening
Down will play Dublin in a County Hurling Match on Sunday 6th May
2007 to mark the official opening of Ballela Hurling & Camogie Clubʼs
new pitch. This will be followed by Down Juniors v County Leitrim.
This is a momentous occasion in the long and proud history of Ballela
Hurling and Camogie Club and we ask all Parishioners to show their
support for the club.
