Ballela Golf Classic

The Annual Ballela Golf Classic will take place on Friday 4th May at Banbridge Golf Club. This has always been a successful event and a brilliant days entertainment. We would like to have as many teams as possible entered this year and there are some timeslots still available. To enter a Four ball will cost £140 which includes: A round of golf, meal, entertainment and prize giving. Top prizes to be won and once again we urge parishioners to support this event. Would any member or player who has teams or sponsors to enter please contact Bernard Mc Cusker ASAP. For more information regarding sponsorship or entering a team please contact any Committee member. The sponsorship fees are: £100 to sponsor a Green, £50 to sponsor a Tee-Box, £150 for the 1st Tee-Box.

Official Pitch Opening

Down will play Dublin in a County Hurling Match on Sunday 6th May 2007 to mark the official opening of Ballela Hurling & Camogie Clubʼs new pitch. This will be followed by Down Juniors v County Leitrim. This is a momentous occasion in the long and proud history of Ballela Hurling and Camogie Club and we ask all Parishioners to show their support for the club. Ballyvarley U-12ʼs have agreed to play Ballela u12ʼs in a friendly between the 2 games so we would ask for all parents and family to come along and enjoy the day and to support the boys and girls in what will be a very proud day for all involved. Ballela play Warrenpoint at St Marks School Playing fields on Saturday 5th May @ 1.00pm. All players are to meet at Tullyraine Quarries @ 12 pm. Please contact Brendan Mc Clure for any further information. Senior Hurling News Training will continue at the field on Thursday nights at 7 pm and on Sunday Mornings at 11 am. Matches will continue on Tuesday nights and all players are asked to check the Irish News on a Tuesday morning for fixtures etc or contact Malachy Magee. New players and ex players are more than welcome to join and rejoin the club as members and we would like to see a few more turning up for training and the matches in support of the team. Camogie Training

Training will continue every Sunday morning @ 9.30 am at the field for all senior & minor Camogie players in preparation for their first league match of the season at home to Clonduff on Monday 30th April. Fixtures are available to view on the club website - www.ballela.com or on the notice board at the clubhouse. A Match report of the Ballela Camogs game versus Clonduff will be in next weeks news.

Under 8, 10 & 12 hurling

Under 8, 10 & 12 hurling training will continue every Monday Night at 6.30 to 7.30 in Ballela.
