Ballycran's All-Ireland success at Feile

National Feile took place in Cork from 16th-18th June. Ballycran Camogie and Hurling teams represented Down - the first time any club achieved this in the County.

The Camogs won their section beating our host club Eire Og, Fr. O'Neills and a very strong Naas side. The semi-final against Ballincollig was end to end stuff with Ballycran pulling through by one point.

The final, in Pairc Ui Rinn, was against Ballinascreen, a Co. Derry team. Goals at each end and a point each meant these teams were evenly matched. A point for Ballycran just before half time was the winning margin at the end of an exciting, exhilerating second half.

The teams achievement cannot be under estimated as this is the first time in the history of Feile that a camogie team from Down won an All-Ireland Division 2 title.

Results are as follows:

Ballycran V Eire Og (Cork)

6-2 2-1

Ballycran V Fr. O'Neills (Cork)

5-6 1-3

Ballycran V Naas (Kildare)
