Ballyholland Harps launch unique
fundraiser

Ballyholland Harps GAC have just launched
their flagship fundraising event for 2006. “Who wants to be a Thousandaire?” is
the brainchild of Pallas Marketing in Tipperary and is based on the famous
television programme which normally gives away slightly larger sums. With a
crowd of 300-400 expected at the event on Friday 3rd November in the
Carrickdale Hotel Harps Chairman Seán McAteer is hoping that the show will help
raise much needed finance to fund major development ongoing at the club.
“We have embarked on an ambitious
development programme at Fr Lynch Park with the new spectator stand being the
first manifestation of that work”, Seán told reporters at the launch night on
Tuesday night (3rd Oct) in the Harps Social Club. “We will also be
developing new training facilities behind the stand as well as upgrading the
Social Club facilities in due course so the Thousandaire event a vital part of
the fundraising process.”
The show is run exactly along the lines of
its bigger TV counterpart with “Phone a friend” and “Ask the Audience” etc.
There will be 8 opportunities on the night to win the main prize and you don’t
even have to be in attendance to take part. If you buy a ticket and can’t go you
can nominate a member of the Harps committee to play on your behalf if your
ticket is pulled out of the drum.
The show has been generously sponsored by
Donroy Packaging in Camlough and lots of other local businesses have
weighed in with their support for the event.
Tickets cost £10
for what promises to be a great nights entertainment and are available from the
Harps club, O’Hares shop, any committee member or pay on the night. For more
