13/10/2003
The Loup surprise Ballinderry
yesterday to claim their first
Derry Senior Football title
in 67 years. Loup won the
game 0-11 to 0-07, with Derry
star Paul McFlynn in superb
scoring form and Ronan Rock's

Down in Ulster 15/10/2003
With Ballygalget capturing
the senior hurling title last
Sunday, Down's two representatives
in the Ulster club championships
are now known. Ballygalget
will have a very tough task
in their opening match in
Ulster when they play Antrim
champions and last year's
All-Ireland Club finalists
Dunloy. The game is fixed
for Sunday week October 26th
with the Ulster final the
following Sunday. Bryansford
will play in the Ulster club
football championship for
the first time in 26 years.
Their first opponents will
be new Derry champions Loup
also on Sunday 26 October.
Both teams had similar shock
wins in their county finals,
Loup against Ballinderry and
Bryansford against Mayobridge.

Kilcoo defeated Bryansford
in the East Down Feis senior
sevens final at Ballykinlar
on Sunday. Only five of the
eight teams listed turned
up for the competition. Downpatrick,
Carryduff and Kilclief failed
to put in an appearance and
are certain to be fined heavily
by the East Down Board. Kilcoo

June 1.
Mayobridge
back on winning ways 03/05/2003
The Mayobridge senior team
got back on the winning trail
with a victory over Bryansford
at Newcastle last night. A
powerful second half display
saw the Sky Blues victorious
on a scoreline of 1 -13 to
0-5 with Adrian Barry getting
the goal. On Thursday night
the bridge Under 16's Trecorded
a big win over Attical. The
'Bridge were virtually in
control from start to finish
and finished up very comfortable
winners, 6-13 to 2-5. On Wednesday,
the bridge U-14 footballers
entertained Ballyholland in
the league and after a poor
first half display, which
saw them trailing by 14 points
at one stage, the young Sky
Blues staged a remarkable
second half recovery to almost
snatch victory from the jaws
of defeat. Ballyholland held
out for victory by 4 -11 to
4-8.

Down U12 League - Bryansford
3-3 Bredagh 8-5
Last year, onlookers were
taken aback by Bredagh's victory
in Newcastle. Now that they
have done it again, it is
clear that Bredagh has a production
line of excellent young players
and teams that can compete
with the best in the county.
Conor McCloskey, Ruairi Johnston
at midfield, and man-marker
Damien Moreland were just
three of the stars who prevailed
in poor conditions to maintain
Bredaghs U-12s unbeaten record.
