BURREN UNDER 16 LADIES V DRUMGATH
The
Burren under 16 ladies hit the ground
running in Drumgath on Sunday morning
last when they gave a good account of
themselves to run out comfortable
winners in the end.
There were some very positive outcomes
from the match with the full back line
of Kirsty Downey, Melissa Mc Mahon and
Aislinn Dinsmore hardly troubled and the
half back line very well organised by
Laura Kelly and with Cara Murdock and
Kelly O’Hare very prominent when
breaking down Drumgath attacks.
Midfield was ruled by Mairead Trainor
and Caroline Mc Kay and from here they
set up attack after attack with ease.
New
girl Courtney Linden along with
Catherine Mc Govern and Niamh “Gucci” Mc
Grath were always in control in the half
forwards but pride of place has to go to
the full forward line where Emily Brown,
Siofra Murdock and Kerri Mc Govern
scored a combined total of 10 goals and
11 points between them.
There were substitute appearances from
Aine Trainor, Allanah O’Hare, Aislinn
Fegan and Eimear Ryan and all these
girls picked up where the others left
off giving a very good account of
themselves throughout.
This effort is a reflection of how hard
the ladies are working in training at
the moment and this level will have to
be maintained in the coming months as
the league fixtures are coming thick and
fast over the next few weeks and the
championship is only 10 weeks away.
Next Sunday the ladies play at home to
Rostrevor with a throw in at 12.30.
Please come along and show the girls
your support.
