Seniors Draw With League Leaders
The Seniors travelled to the runaway league leaders
Darragh Cross on Friday night and came away with
a draw 0-08 to 0-08.
The hero of the night was Barry O'Neill who scored
7 of Carryduff's 8 points, centre half-back Gerard
Scullion getting the other score.
With the score at 0-03 to 0-01 in favour of Darragh
Cross, Chris O'Neill was pulled down in the wee
square for a penalty. Barry O'Neill took the penalty
but the goal keeper managed a good save, turning
the ball around the post. Barry calmly put the
resulting 45 over for a point. At half time the
score was Darragh Cross 0-05 Carryduff 0-03.
After the interval Darragh Cross increased their
lead before O'Neill replied for Carryduff. Darragh
got the next two points but in the last quarter
there was only one team in it as Carryduff hit
4 without reply. A 'goal' was also disallowed
for a square ball infringement. With two minutes
to go Rory Collins who had just come on for Declan
Morgan made a 30 yard run and put Brian McCreanor
through but the shot went wide.
In the end it was Darragh who were glad to hear
the final whistle.

U-14 (M) 's beaten by Bredagh
A very determined Bredagh side travelled to Carryduff
on Tuesday hoping to extract revenge for their
Championship exit last week. Bredagh controlled
the first half and lead by five points to no score.
Carryduff didn't even get going in this half but
did miss a first half penalty.
Several changes in the team and a stern half-time
talk seemed to have woken Carryduff up, as the
boys raced into the lead at the halfway stage
of the second half, 8 points to 5. Carryduff however
could not sustain
this level of effort and saw Bredagh rattle in
two goals and a few points to win the game by
6 points. Carryduff keeper Ciaran Lavery pulled
off some magnificent saves to keep the score down.
The boys are now out of contention in the league
and must refocus on the Championship semi-final
against Downpatrick RGU in August.
