Both Carryduff and Bredagh
will feel a sense of relief and disappointment
after drawing at a very wet and dark Downpatrick
on Saturday evening.
It was Carryduff who got the first score of
the game through a Ronan McLaughlin free but
Bredagh gained the upper hand with All Ireland
winner Gormley proving deadly from frees.
Carryduff's defence was creaking and the attack
misfiring as the South Belfast men built up
a commanding 0-07 to 0-01 lead.
Positional switches in the full back line and
the switch of Ryan Hanna to midfield steadied
Carryduff who although faced with a sizeable
deficit did not let their heads drop.
Their resolution was rewarded with a Conor
Gardner goal which gave the worried Carryduff
support a lift.

Conor Gardner’s goal brought Carryduff
right back into the game.
The interval saw Bredagh hold a two point lead,
0-07 to 1-02.
The second half saw Carryduff take control
with midfield and defence well on top. Although
the forwards still missed more than they should,
enough chances were converted to put Carryduff
into the lead late in the game.

Three points from frees by Ronan McLaughlin
kept Carryduff in contention.
With injury time counting down, a late free
from Enda Gormley gave greatful Bredagh another
chance.
