| Annual General Meeting
The Club held its AGM on Sunday afternoon at
the Clubrooms. Probably the biggest attendance
ever at an AGM turned up for some lively and interesting
debate and reflection. Members commented that
it was particulary gratifying to see the number
of senior squad players who came along to listen
and voice their opinion on the past year and the
future. It was a sure sign of their commitment
to the Club and interest into its future.
The main theme of Club Chairperson John Higgin's
speech was on Club Development and the apathy
amongst quite a number of members. He outlined
the challenges that lie ahead, especially in relation
to the development of the 7.5 acres of land that
the Club is in negotiation to purchase.
Quote of the day came from Down and Carryduff
legend, Dan McCartan, on the topic of player burnout.
Dan stated that in his day, he often played a
County match on a Sunday morning, a Club match
that evening and a tournament game on a Monday
... and he didn't burn out till he was 59!
The following committee members were elected
to serve for the incoming year;
Chairperson - John Higgins
Vice Chairperson - Paddy Love
Secretary - Eddie McCrory
Treasurer - Daniel Rogers
Registrar - Barney Clarke
Player Rep - Donnla Fisher
Committee Members -
Paul McConville
Liam McLornan
Kevin Teague
Paul Lavery
Stephen Magorrian
Harry McEvoy
Donal Rooney
Paul Bradley
The motions passed at the AGM were;
1. That the club’s Executive Committee
in the incoming year appoint assistants to the
senior executive posts of chair, treasurer and
secretary in the interests of continuity/or sharing
the work load. (Proposed by Barney Clarke).
3. That the incoming committee consider the interest
in and implications of forming an adult hurling
team. (Proposed by Mickey Conway).
5. Financial assistance should be given to players
who require medical treatment that requires advance
payment pending indemnification from the GAA nominated
insurance company subject to players contributing
to an insurance contingency fund, payment of excess
and funds being available. (Proposed by Gavin
Kelly as amended by Rory Gardner).

The U-13 boys had another successful day out.
The A-Team played Saul and it was agreed from
the outcome that goals and points would be equal.

before half time. Carryduff finally got going
and led 8 scores to 4 at the interval.
Carryduff picked up in the second half and were
victorous 17 scores to 4.
This was not a one sided affair and Saul are
to be complimented for a very good performance.
The B-Team played Liatroim and showed that they
have learned from previous games and understand
the need to comptete for the full game. They were
victorious 4-03 to 1-05 and worthy winners at
that.

U10 Girls Reach Final Of St Paul's Tournament
-------------------------------------------------------
Despite not having been training since the end
off September the Under 10 Girls did the club
proud by reaching the final of the St Pauls 9-aside
tournament on Saturday 10th November only to be
beaten by Clann Eireann Lurgan by two late goals.
Eleven players went to represent the club including
Bronagh McGinnity who was a late call up to the
squad. The first match against Craigbane (Derry)
showed the girls lack of match practice as Craigbane
ran up an early lead. Having conceded early goals
the girls finally found their feet and performed
well in the second half losing 4-3 to 1-3. The
game finished with a bad injury to star player
Claire McGinnity who had to be taken to hospital.
Reduced to ten players the girls regrouped to
meet hosts St Pauls in the second match. Having
got off to a great start the girls battled hard
against the expected St Pauls comeback to run
out winners by 4-1 to 1-2.
With Kerri Magowan having to leave at the point
the girls had no subs for their remaining matches.
Next up was Bredagh and despite early possession
scores were initially hard to come by but eventually
the target was found and Carryduff went on to
win 4-4 to 1-2.
With a place in the semifinals already secured
the final group match was against a superb Clann
Eireann team. The Lurgan girls played fluent football
and took points from all angles and despite the
now tiring efforts of Carryduff Clann Eireann
won 3-12 to 2-3.
The semifinal brought a rematch with Craigbane
and the improvement from Carryduff was immense.
Emma Connolly and Emma Norris snuffed out the
goal threat from the Craigbane centre forward
and Katie McKenna and Sinead Early continued to
score freely at the other end. In a pulsating
second half Craigbane got a late goal to take
the lead but Carryduff battled away to regain
the lead and won by 4-2 to 3-3. Three great saves
from Bronagh McGinnity and tremendous workrate
from Rachel Moore, Amy Foy, Claire Milburn and
Ellen Maguire contributed to a super team performance.
The final brought a rematch with Clann Eireann.
With the girls having played their last 3 matches
with out subs tiredness had become a factor but
a tremendous rearguard action by the defence and
midfield kept the Lurgan girls at bay and goals
from Katie Mckenna and Sinead Early gave Carryduff
a half time lead of 2-0 to 0-4. Claire Milburn
added a point to give Carryduff three point lead
but a well drilled Clann Eireann kept the pressure
on and as the Carryduff legs tired they finally
got their breakthrough to take the lead. Carryduff
replied with another McKenna goal but Clann Eireann
were to have the last word with two late goals
to win 3-6 to 3-1.
After a very sporting final the girls were presented
with runner-up medals and given great credit for
their performance by the organising committee
from St Pauls. The team management would like
to thank all the girls for doing the club proud
and all the parents who were a great source of
support on the day. All the players and management
wish Claire McGinnity a speedy recovery from her
injury.
Carryduff Panel:
Bronagh McGinnity, Emma Connolly, Emma Norris,
Rachel Moore, Amy Foy, Claire Milburn, Katie McKenna,
Sinead Early, Ellen Maguire, Kerri Magowan and
Claire McGinnity.

Thank you to all the people came along and helped
make Monday evening's Annual Club Mass such a
fitting tribute to our deceased members and friends.
Thank you especially to the Choir who only formed
