Duff Lads Meet Millenium Hurler

Hurling legend Eddie Keher signs autographs
for the Carryduff boys
Six lucky Carryduff lads from the u12 &
u14 hurling teams met Millenium Allstar, the
legendary Eddie Keher, on Saturday in an event
arranged by Sean Morgan of Setanta Hurls.
Eddie is a former captain and manager of the
Kilkenny teams of the 60s and 70s, winning six
All Ireland medals in 1963, 1967, 1969, 1972,
1974 and 1975 and also picking up the Texaco
Hurler of the Year award in 1972. He also has
5 Allstars to his name.
Eddie went on to coach the Black Cats winning
the Liam McCarthy Cup once again in 1979 with
victory over Galway in the decider. In 50 Championship
appearances Eddie scored an amazing 36 goals
and 307 points!
Eddie was in Belfast to pick up his famous
Muhammad Ali Hurl which was getting refurbished
and mounted by Setanta Hurls. The Hurl had been
signed by Muhammad Ali in 1972 when he was in
Dublin for his fight in Croke Park.
Eddie signed autographs for the Carryduff lads
before delighting everyone by hitting a few
balls around the Casement Park pitch.
