Seniors Get Both Points In Derby

The Senior Footballers had a 1-09 to 0-10 win
over Bredagh at Cherryvale on Friday night.

Slevin, coupled with some great work by our
defence and midfield ultimately proved the difference
between the teams in a hard-fought and sporting
game, played in front of a big crowd. Scorers
on the night were:
Cian Slevin - 1-02
Sean Molloy - 0-2
Declan Alder - 0-1

U12 Ladies Beaten By Strong Castlewellan Side
Carryduff faced their toughest challenge in
this years league from the visitors from Castlewellan.
From the outset Castlewellan attacked strongly
particularly through the middle of the pitch
utilising a height
superiority that a number of their key players
had.
Despite brave defending by Carryduff, the visitors
scored 4 goals in the first half to Carryduffs
single point scored by Sinead Early. Castlewellan"s
defence
was very skilled at robbing Carryduff of possession
ensuring that the home team were never able
to capitalise on their attacking moves.
The second half saw an invigorated Carryduff
go all out to try to turn the game around. Excellent
performances by all the Carryduff players saw
the home team put Castlewellan under extreme
pressure. Katie McKeena added a point to the
home team"s score.
The visitors were limited to 4 points in
the second half with their goalkeeper preventing
Carryduff closing the gap between the teams
further.
Castlewellan ended the match as winners but
the Carryduff girls have much to be proud of
in their bravery, gritty determination and commitment
against tough opponents.

improved performance from Carryduff and goals
from Conall Early and Ryan Murdock put the game
beyond reach.
