By Crilly, Ciaran
The 'May Steele' fourth annual
Ladies Invitation Sevens took place in St Malachy's Park Castlewellan on Sat 2nd
August.
The competition was once again an outstanding success
with 18 teams providing a tremendous day of football in a sun drenched St Malachy's
Park. The 18 teams which took part in the competition were divided into 2 groups
of four teams and 2 groups of 5 teams which then played-off on a league basis
at four venues in Castlewellan and Annsborough thus guaranteeing each participating
team a minimum of 3 games.
The group winners and runners-up
then progressed to play the quarter, semi-final and final in the host Club's St
Malachy's Park on a knockout basis.
