Presentations at Castlewellan - 06/12/2003
The Juvenille Presentation for all
U16/U14's took place in the Social Club on Thursday
4th December followed by dancing to live local rock
band 'Eddie's Funeral'. The Awards were made by Castlewellan
and Down/Ulster stars Mickey McVeigh and Gregory McCartan,
and the Chairmen thanked both men for comming straight
from County training to make the Club awards. Gregory
also said a few words encouraging all the players
to stick at the training and improve their skills
so that they may one day play for Castlewellan Senior
teams and hopefully wear their County Jersey with
pride.
The Prentations were as follows:-
U16 Girls All-County League Winners;U16
Boys East Down Championship Winners;
and U16 All-County 'B' Hurling Championship Winners.
Also individual player of the year awards for each
individual underage team in football and hurling as
follows:-
U16 Football - Player of the year
= Kevin Duffin
U16 Football - Most Improved player = Alan Savage
Kevin Duffin then presented individual gifts, on behalf
of the U16 footballers to team managers Donal Ward,
Audey McVeigh, Kevan Owens, Brian Dougherty, and Niall
King.

year = Dierdre Quinn
U16 Ladies Football-Most improved = Eilish Crilly
U13 Ladies Football-Player of the year = Saoirse O'Kane
U16 Hurlers-Player of the year =
Steven Wynn
U16 Hurlers-Most improved =
U14 Football-Player of the year =
Gerard Rice
U14 Football-Most improved = Fiachre O'Kane
The U13 and U12 boy/girls are off
to 'Trills and Spills' on Friday 5th December. All
U-13 Girls team players wishing to go to 'Trills &
Spills' are reminded to please give their names to
