St Malachy’s GAC Castlewellan - Notice of
Annual General Meeting
The AGM of Naomh Maolmhoig Caislean A Mhuilinn
CLG (St Malachy’s GAC) will take place on Sunday
29th January 2006 at 2.30pm in the Social Club.
The following will be made available to all Full
Members at least 10 days in advance of the AGM:-
(a) Copy of the Agenda for the meeting.
(b) Copy of the Annual Report of the
Secretary
(c) Copy of the Financial Statements,
including the
Report of the Accountant(s) or Auditor(s)
(d) Details of the
Nominations for election to the Executive
Committee.
(e) Copies of any motions for
consideration at the meeting.
In order that we can comply with above please
make your nominations for officers and Executive
Committee on nomination form including any
motions on page attached and return to the
Secretary no later than Sunday 8th January 2006
Nominations or motions received after that date
or without your name cannot be considered.
Please seek the consent of the person you are
proposing to nominate, and don’t forget to sign
the nomination form before returning.

Annual Awards Night:
The annual dinner dance and Club awards night
will be
held in the Burrendale Hotel on Friday 10th
March 2006. A players
sub-committe of senior men, ladies and hurlers
will be appointed to organise
and run the 2006 dinner. If you are interested

Centenary Banquet Canal Court

Almost 300 members and guests attended the
Club's Centenary Banquet in the Canal Court
Hotel on Friday 11th November celebrating 100
years of St Malachy's GAC.

Castlewellan Scor Teams through to Ulster Final
Congratulations to McCrickard family and Emer
Walsh
The McCrickard family from Upper Clarkhill -
Ciara, Orla and Niall, along with Emer Walsh
have qualified for the Ulster Final. County
Champions in the Instrumental Section of the
2005 Scor-Na Og Competition bring great honour
to St Malachy's Club as our Centenary year comes
to a close. Ciara mcCrickard also represented
the Club in the solo Singing section and was
narrowly beaten into second place in the County
Final.
The Instrumental Group will now contest against
the best in Ulster and we wish them good-luck in
the Ulster Final which will be held on 12th
Janauary.
Full Programme of Coaching Courses now available
A GAA National Coaching Conference will be held
in Dublin on December 3rd. any club interested
in sending coaches can visit the website ring

Coaching Course Programme 2005/2006:
Foundation Level Coaching Course:
Designed for aspiring coaches who wish to play a
role in clubs or schools.
Course Duration:-
> 3 hours Child Protection
> 3 hours Fundamentals
> 6 hours Coaching Practice
Course content:- Emphasis on acquiring the
relevant skills to conduct a coaching
programme. Course Fee:- £20 per person.
Dates and Venues:- Club will arrange dates and
venue depending on numbers.
Level One Coaching Course:
Applicants must have completed a Foundation
Level Course, and also have attended a Child
Protection Course.
Course Duration:- Non-Residential – Held over
two consecutive weekends; i.e. Friday evening
and Saturday all day.
Residential - Held over a full weekend, i.e.
Friday evening and Saturday all day and Sunday
morning with a follow-up day later.
> This Course has greater emphasis on practice
with inbuilt assessment. A Log Book
has also to be completed.

Football: St.John's - 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th
November 2005
Liatroim - 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th January 2006
Hurling Residential: 10th, 11th, 12th February
2006 and follow-up day 4th March 2006.
