Senior Team Manager PJ O’Hare re-appointed                                                           The Club's Executive Committee have endorsed the re-appointment of           PJ O'Hare and his senior team assistants Liam Hardy and Harry Toner.         Our best wishes to the senior team management for 2006.

Castlewellan May Steele Ladies All-Ireland 7's : Saturday 8th October
15 teams  took part in the 6th Ladies Invitation 7-A-Side
Competition on Sat.8th Oct.'05.
The teams were divided into three groups,with one group playing in
St. Malachy's Park and the other two in Annsborough.
The winners and runners-up from each group then advanced to the Qualifer/Semi-Final stages in St. Malachy's Park. Those teams to advance were, from
Group 1 -- Castlewellan and Downpatrick;
Group 2 -- Bryansford and Magheracloone;
Group 3 -- Monaghan Harps and Glen(Derry).
In the Qualifiers Magheracloone beat Downpatrick and Castlewellan beat Bryansford.
These two teams went on to meet Glen and Monaghan Harps
respectively in the semi-finals.
 

The two winners here were Magheracloone and Monaghan Harps who contested the Final.
 

The Final was won by Monaghan Harps for the second year running.
Congratulations to Monaghan Harps.

Congratulations to Mickey McVeigh selected on the Ireland International Rules squad                                                                                                    The Committee and Members of  CLG Naomh Maolmhoig Caisleán a’ Mhuilinn would like to congratulate Mickey McVeigh on his selection on the reland International Rules squad, which will be played in Australia on the 21st & 28th October .                                                                                                                           

Congratulations to the U16 hurlers                                                                      The Committee and Members of  CLG Naomh Maolmhoig Caisleán a’ Mhuilinn would like to Congratule to the U16 hurlers on a brilliant win on saturday in the U16 Shield Final v Clonduff. Great to see such a high level of commitment , skill, and discipline throughout the team , especially from the younger members of the squad.

CENTENARY DINNER   -  Tickets now on sale
Tickets for Centenary Banquet in Canal Court Newry on Friday 11th November are on sale
Tickets are £40 each and this includes drinks reception, 5 course dinner, cabaret, and dancing.
Formal Dress only

The normal Annual Awards dinner will take place about March or April, when all the usual player of the year awards etc will take place. The Centenary Banquet on the 11th November is a one-off get together of all Club members and players past and present to celebrate the Club Centenary Year.

News from the Committee room

Club Caterer and Groundsperson
Vacancies have arisen within the Club for two positions
1.'Club Caterer' (part-time).
The duties involve preparation and serving food for all types of occasions, from private members parties, including wedding and funeral receptions, club and team functions - including snacks, basket meals, lunches, four course meals etc.
The Caterer will have excess to fully equipped kitchen and function hall and will be expected to work closely with the Club committee.
The Caterer will also have full control and responsibility for the kitchen.

2. Groundsperson:                                                                                                                Under the scheme the person appointed must be 12 months unemployed if over 40 and 6 months unemployed if under 40.
Duties include grass cutting, pitch marking and maintenance, putting up flags and nets, cleaning and maintenance of outbuildings including changing rooms and stand. The job also involves various duties involving the social club including setting out and cleaning function hall, taking in bar orders, and various light maintenance jobs suh as changing bulbs, fixing door handles etc.
Some of the duties will be required at week-ends and in the evenings for which time-off in lieu will be granted. Driving licence an advantage and ability to drive the Club mini-bus.
This is a full time post for 12 months duration.                                                     For application forms contact Club Secretary
