Congratulations
to our Under 12 Footballers who won the Annual
Kilcoo Tournament. In the semi-final they beat
Kilcoo and in the final they beat Clonduff by 9
points to 8, after extra time. A good
performance by all team members. The hard work
put in at training was rewarded with this win.
Senior football Championship- Good luck
to our senior footballers who meet our
neighbours Kilcoo in the Championship quarter
final 3.00pm on Sunday 27th August at RGU
Downpatrick. Also our Minors who play Bosco in
the championship quarter finals in the meadow
tonight (Wednesday) at 7.00pm. Come along and
give your support to the boys in green.
Congratulations to our senior ladies team who
defeated much fancied Bredagh to win a place in
the quarter finals of the County Championship.
Commiserations. Commiserations to our U14
boys who were beaten in the championship final
on Saturday past by our neighbours, and
all-Ireland champions Kilcoo. Some fine
individual displays by some of our boys, giving
Laurence, Ben, Sean & co something to think
about for the future. Castlewellan never got
going in the first half of this East Down Under
14 Football Final at Ballykinlar and at
half-time were well behind. In the second half
they played much better, with every player
prepared to take on his opposite number and they
held Kilcoo to 2-6.Castlewellan team and scores:
