Bridie Ward
Our
deepest sympathy to our esteemed member and
former committee member Dan Ward on the death of
his wife Bridie who passed away on Wednesday 10th
February following a long illness. Our deepest
sympathy also to her sons former playing members
Donal, Michael and John. daughters Ann, Teresa,
Una, Eileen and Roisin and ,playing
grandchildren Conor and Nuala McAlinden; Ferghal
and Colleen Mcloughlin, Gerard Ward and Miceal
Corrigan, and to all the Ward family
grandchildren great grandchildren, son in laws,
daughter in laws and entire family circle. Mary
Queen of the Gael pray for her.

Members of the U-14 School of Excellence are
invited to St Malachy;s High School Castlewellan
on Thursday 16th February at 7-00pm Sharp, for a
information evening. Topics to be presented 1.
Sport Nutrition 2. Hydration 3. Burn out in
Gaelic Football. All players to come along in

Bi –Monthly
newssheet:
The Club
Executive has decided to issue a bi-monthly
newssheet containing club news, reviews and all
sorts of club information to keep members and
the general public fully aware and up to-date
with all Club issues. Anyone who has any
photos, news, or anything they feel should be
added to the newssheet, should contact the
chairman, secretary, or PRO.
Membership: 2006 Membership fees are now due
and must be paid to Club Registrar before March
1st. Membership forms can be downloaded from
Club website or are available from Registrar

welcome particularly from new residents to the

golf classic organised for 3rd
March, at the Royal County Down followed by
auction supper and music in GAC Clubrooms more
details next week.
New
Senior Ladies manager appointed
The Club
Executive are please to announce that Stephen
Poucher had accepted the Committee’s offer of
taking over the senior ladies management job
Stephen is a qualified teacher and coach in St
Colombian’s College in Kilkeel were he started
Ladies football a number of years ago. He also
coaches a number of the boys’ teams there also.
Stephen is also a member of the Club's senior
team.
His assistants also bring with them a vast
experience of Gaelic football. PJ Maguire played
inter-county football for his native County
Leitrim as well as for a number of New York
sides when he lived there for a number of years.
Seamus McCartan holds two SFC medals with the
town and has managed and coached numerous teams
within the Club from underage through to adult.
Ladies training commences Tuesday 14th
February at 7.00pm and will be held every
subsequent Tuesday and Thursday. The new
management team have asked for a full turn-out
of senior ladies at every training session.

were 3,7,9,24 there was no jackpot winner. The
