Games Development Strategy: The Club
Executive are currently preparing a discussion
document aimed at creating an effective and
efficient coaching and games development
structure within our Club for the next 10 years.
All members, including coaches, former coaches,
players and former players will be consulted on
this very important document and asked to attend
a special seminar in the Clubrooms on Sunday 12
November 2006 at 3.00pm Any member interested
in the future of the Club should be in
attendance. If you have family members or
children playing games for the Club there is a
particular obligation for you to become
involved.
AGM Sunday 19th November.
Nomination and proposal forms have been posted
to all Full members for return to An Runái by 5th
November. If you have not received form contact
the Club Registrar 07712526737. Forms also
available from Clubrooms. Secretary’s Report
available from 6th November.
Trip to Croke Park Sunday 5th November
– This trip has now been cancelled. – Contact
Laurence Mc Alinden for further details.
DOWN GAA
IRISH LANGUAGE TABLE QUIZ – Change of Date
The date for the Down GAA Irish Language Table
Quiz has now changed. This will now take place
at Castlewellan GAA Club on Tuesday, 14th
November at 7.15pm.
U10 indoor hurling U10 indoor hurling
will take on Saturday 4th November at
St Malachy’s High School, Castlewellan at 10am.
Downpatrick, Kilclief, Ardglass, and Leitrim,
are all taking part at this venue. This is a
great opportunity for the younger hurlers to
play hurling all year round.
Club tops. A range of official Club GAA
tops and waterproof jackets are now available at
sale prices in John McKenny Menswear Main Street
Castlewellan.
Bingo. Every Friday night –
visitors welcome. Snowball game £280 for 55
no.s (callers 27th October - Charlie & Johnny)
Scor
Congratulations to our club representatives who
took part in the Scor Na Og. Michael Sweeney,
Michael Cunningham, and Fiachra O' Maolcroabihe
who won the Question time section and are
through to the East Down Final and to Orla
McCrickard who won the solo singing section also
qualifying for the East Down final in Dundrum on
Sunday 5th November.

Well Woman Clinic.
Venue: Burrendale Hotel, Newcastle Date: 7th
November @ 7.00pmThe Well Woman Clinic is a new
initiative on the part of the Ulster Council GAA
to promote good health among it's adult members.
We have joined forceswith the Ulster Cancer
Foundation to guide people towards a healthier
lifestyle. The night will consist of some
general health advice as well as practical tips
to prevent and detect Cancer. (A similar night
will run for the males in the County on the 22nd
February2007).

Entertainments as usual Saturday night in the
member’s lounge. Admission free and visitors
