Club Notes for
week-ending 06th May
Counselling available for all friends of Rory
and Clare in Clubrooms at 7pm Tuesday 1st
May. All encouraged to attend. Also 10th
May 7pm meeting with Cruse counselling for wider
community including parents, neighbours etc in
Clubrooms. Clare and Rory Forever. Well
done to McAlinden and Steele families for their
caring and thoughtful decision to set up a
memorial fund to help the Mourne Underwater
Rescue Team who played such a significant role
in their family tragedy.
Family members will begin their fundraising
efforts by taking part in the Belfast Marathon
on Monday 7th May under the name 'Clare and Rory
Forever'
Sponsorship sheets are available in most of the
town business's and pubs including the GAA
Clubrooms. Additionally donations can be made to
Councillor Eamon O’Neill fund chairman at his
office at Main Street, or left in sealed
envelopes at GAA Clubrooms Circular Road marked
Clare and Rory Fund. These will be passed on to
fund organisers.
Games:
The hurlers suffered their first defeat in the
new Ulster Senior Hurling League loosing to St
Enda’s on Saturday 28th April. Their
next game is against Sean Tracy’s and will be
played in Lurgan next Monday night at 6.30pm
Defeats last week-end also for our senior men
and senior ladies loosing respectively to
Liatroim and Rostrevor. A big disappointment
from our senior team after playing so well
against Rostrevor the previous Monday. Away to
Clonduff Friday and a chance to redeem
ourselves. Meanwhile the Seconds, and Minor
footballers continue their unbeaten runs with
the Seconds beating Annaclone 3.11 to 1. 19; the
Minors beating neighbours St John’s
3.8 to
2.6, while the thirds drew with Bredagh on a
scoreline of 1.10 to to 2.7. Well done U14
hurlers beating Liatroim at Fontenoy Park 2.14
to 1.5.
Juvenile Coaching:
Parents please note that u12 / u10/ & u8
Football Hurling & camogie coaching every
Saturday 7th April 10 o clock in St Malachy’s
Park –also under 10 & 12 girls football training
at 11am. All new players welcome. Parents please
drop off your children and collect them promptly
when session ends.
