Club Notes for week-ending 26th May

Games: An unexpected and welcome win for our senior footballers against the mighty ‘Bridge on Friday night give both players and supporters a lift that was badly needed. Both our Seconds and thirds also registered wins on Sunday past beating Saval and Teconnaught respectively. Unfortunately our senior ladies didn’t fare so well last week loosing by 3 points to Bredagh. No luck either for our U12 camogs who also lost to Bredagh and our U16 footballers who lost to Carryduff in the League.

The senior hurlers drew with Carrickmacross in the Ulster League in somewhat controversial circumstances and perhaps neutral referees are what is needed. The U14 footballers had a great victory in the Championship against our Laitriom neighbours while our U14 hurlers lost to Downpatrick in the Championship. However there is still the Shield for our U14 hurlers to play for and good luck against Laitriom on Wednesday night.

The  U12 girls footballers travelled to Bosco Newry  last week in a game that saw the Town dominate from beginning to end Led by Caoimb Kelly who had an outstanding match in Midfield her passing and attacking was superb. Though Bosco were big they could not cope with the smaller faster Town side and our forwards in particular were in spectacular form scoring 8 goals and 6 points between them The back line of Katie, Saoirse, Catriona, Paddie Louise, Tierna and leeann worked as a team keeping Bosco down to a goal and a point Well done girls another good result!! Next match is Carryduff at home .

The Irish classes  in Clubrooms for Primary school children p4-7 have now stopped for the Summer. They will re-start in September. Go raibh míle maith agaibh- Grainne Ní Fhlanagáin, Ciara nic Riocaird and Méabh Ní Chumhaí  for all their hard work and dedication over these pat few months, agus Adh mór sna scrúduithe
