Scor Na Og: Well done to all our young representatives who done so well in the East Down Semi-Final of Scor Na Og last Sunday with no fewer than 5 acts through to the East Down Final which will be held in Dundrum on Sunday at 3.00pm. Results for Castlewellan in the semi-finals were as follows 1st in solo singing,- Orla McCrickard, 1st in instrumental music- Orla McCrickard, Niall McCrickard and Eimear Walsh . 2nd in recitation - Kirsty McAleese 2nd in Ballad group-Fiachra Ó Maolcraoibhe, orla McCrickard, Kirsty McAleese, Finola Rice and Rosie Rice, 2nd in Novelty Act- Kirsty mcAleese, Orla McCrickard, Jenny Sloan, Mary o' Higgans, Liam O'Higgans, Fiachra O Maolcraoibhe, Finola Rice and Rosie Rice.
Good luck in the finals and could as many members as possible come and support these young people. They are a credit to our club.

U20’s:Well done also to our U20 footballers who continue their unbeaten record in East Down following their latest victory against a strong Carryduff side. The town lads once again played their heart out notching up a first half score of 8 points while Carryduff only managed 3 all from frees. In the second half Carryduff did up their game with an early goal and a few points but Liam McKibbin answered with a brilliant solo run through the Carrydugff defence before slamming home the town’s only goal of the game. However plenty of town points were to follow particularly from young Colm Flanagan who notched up a personal tally of 6 points . The final score was Castlewellan 1.15, Carry duff 1 .08. Castlewellan scorers; Cahal Crilly (0.04), Colm Flanagan (0.08), Liam McKibben (1.03, Ruairi Brogan (0.02), Luke Toner (0.01). Castlewellan are now through to the East Down final when they meet old rivals Bryansford.
Hurling: Our senior hurlers had their annual outing to the Oireachtas All-Ireland competition last week-end which was held this year in Westport County Mayo. By all accounts they give a good account of themselves beating Round Towers of Dublin before they were put out of the competition by a superior Setanta team.
Training: Gaelic training in High School Mondays 7.00pm to 8.00pm PS children.
Social Club: Music continues in Members lounge every Saturday night. You’ve seen the X-Factor now check out the F (fab) Factor. Renowned for having such a diverse and ranging base of talent amongst its members the club have decided to put it to the public test. Based upon the hit TV series X Factor, club talent from all adult teams, management, bar staff, the bowlers, and the much maligned committee will put their talents before the mercy of the public vote. Our F -Factor will have its very own Simon, Louis and Sharon who's cryptic comments are sure to cause controversy. There will be two semi-finals on the 17th November and 1st December with the final set for 22nd of December all in St Malachys clubrooms. The cost of admission which includes your voting card is £2.00. Come along and support your act.
Weekly Club Development Lotto – Jackpot now £4,850. Last week’s numbers were 09, 10, 15, 25. There was no jackpot winner but Clare McPhilips won a £20 prize with 3 numbers. Lotto tickets available from local shops and social club. Please support development of GAA facilities in the town .
Bingo as usual every Friday at 8.30pm – visitors welcome
