Club Notes for week-ending October 20th

A landmark in Castlewellan GAA history came
to fruition on Sunday 14th October 2007 when
the first competitive game of football was
played on the club’s new pitch at Dublin
Road. Well done to Ciaran Brannigan who worked
tirelessly over the last number of months
preparing the pitch which was in immaculate
condition for Sunday’s game. The first
game played was the Under 20’s playing
against Drumaness,in the U20 league with Colm
Mc Veigh of Castlewellan, recording the first
competitive score on the new pitch. Castlewellan
ran out clear winners on a score line of 7-17
to 3-3, and we wish the lads the best of luck
for the rest of their games. Well done also
to the management team of Harry Toner Patrick
& Liam Hardy, Fintan Mc Greevy and Frankie
Brannigan.
