Clonduff
History Bridges quarter of
a century 12/12/2007

Clonduff
was one of five Ulster Clubs
and the only one from Down
that took part in the Pilot
Scheme for the Award which
was officially launched at
the Club and Community Development
Conference held in The Stormont
Hotel on Saturday 20th October.
Club Maíth is a 'Best
Practice' award equivalent
to the Quality Assurance scheme
in industry. The portfolio
compiled by the Clonduff committee
is a recognition of the effort
of the voluntary input - ranging
from Committee Members, Coaches,
Groundsmen, Cleaners, People
who wash Jerseys, Transport
Juveniles, etc, etc, etc.
The Conference was attended
by the National President
of the GAA, Nicky Brennan,
Ministers of the NI Assembly,
Edwin Poots, Catriona Ruane
and Margaret Ritchie along
with numerous Croke Park officials
and 400 delegates from all
over Ulster. In introducing
the awards, Ryan Feeney, the
Ulster Council representative,
said the reason Clonduff merited
Platinum was the range of
on-field sports (Football,
Hurling, Ladies Football and
Camogie) together with Handball,
Scór and Community
involvement that demonstrated
that they had that little
bit extra to offer.
The Clonduff contingent who
attended the conference is
pictured with Christy Cooney
(Croke Park Games Development
Officer), Nicky Brennan (National
President of GAA), and Tom
Daly (Ulster President).

U-16
Football Ballyholland 0-6
Clonduff 2-7
Clonduff U16's finally gained
their first win of the season
over Ballyholland. The game
could have gone either way
until halfway through the
second half. At this stage
the Hilltown team started
to take control and made their
chages count.
Clonduff
seniors continue the winning
run 03/05/2003
Clonduff had a valuable 1
point win at home over An
Riocht on Friday night. Following
heavy rain over the last couple
of days, underfoot conditions
were woeful at Hilltown for
this Division 1 game in which
most of the crowd thought
should not have been played
because of the state of the
pitch. Clonduff - physically
smaller in most sectors, coped
the better and recovered from
a 3 point half time deficit.
An Riocht 1-03 Clonduff 0-03.
Clonduff started the better
in the second half and an
own goal help Clonduff get
on top. With minutes remaining
Clonduff lead by three points,
but An Riocht trough all at
the Clonduff defence and if
they had, had better forwards
would have won the game. Final
Score: Clonduff 1-8 An Riocht
1-7.

Longstone by 2 points, Kilcoo
