Clonduff
pick up 5 points from 6 in one week - 30/06/2003
ACFL Div 1:
Longstone 1-07 Clonduff 0-13

Clonduff senior Footballers
pick up another 2 valuable points in Longstone on Friday night making this 5 from
6 points in the last week. For the first time this season they have moved out
of the bottom four. With the availability of county players, Shane Ward started
at full forward and makes one wonder why he is omitted from the County starting
15.
Clonduff had difficulty coming to terms with the short
field and the wind conditions in the first half - when the keeper was chipped
it looked as if it had all gone wrong but he brought of a magnificent point blank
save just before half time to leave Clonduff trailing by 1-5 to 0-4. Young Aidan
Carr was introduced at corner back and Peter Withnell at centre half forward for
the restart.
These changes, together with wind advantage
saw Clonduff move up a gear. Jason Brown and Sean Curran were also introduced
during the second half. They put on a stirring performance adding 9 points and
held the home side to a mere 2 points. Final score: Longstone 1-7 Clonduff 0-13
