It
is almost a quarter of century
since the late PD Kearns wrote
the award winning “Sceal
Chluain Daimh” the history
of Gaelic Games and past times
in Clonduff and on Saturday night
that story was brought up to date
with the launch of the launch
of volume two “Sceal Chluain
Daimh”, The Clonduff story
1985 -2007.
Speaking at the launch the chairman
of the history committee Dean
A Davies PP acknowledged the work
of the history committee and thanked
former club PRO Jerry Quinn whose
weekly contributions as a GAA
correspondent with the Outlook
provided the research material
and the photographs for the publication.
Dean
A Davies presented the first copy
of the book to club chairman Brian
McGreevy. The chairman thanked
the co-authors Darren Gribben
Adrian Travers Guinevra McGilligan
and Marie Walls for their painstaking
work and he also congratulated
Paul Welsh who coordinated the
design and the publication. The
book is a 600 hundred page full
colour publication and it is now
on sale in all local outlets.
