clubnotes:
Bright 0-7 Darragh
Cross 2-12
Darragh Cross
comfortably strode to victory in this
potentially difficult fixture on a
tricky pitch in Bright on Friday
night. The win leaves Darragh with
maximum points from their opening two
matches in Division 3. Bright started
well with two points without reply,
before Gareth McGovern pointed a free
and the impressive Padraig Mageean
curled over a leveller. Minutes later
Marty Healy punched a ball back from
the end line to Padraig Mageean who
fired low to the net. Darragh had
their tails up, and Eoin Mageean
finished off a flowing move to the net
again midway through the half. Tom
McMahon and Padraig Mageean pointed
before half-time, in between three
points for the home side, to leave
Darragh leading 2-4 to 0-5 at the
break.
Darragh dominated
the second period, and it wasn’t until
the 49th minute that Bright
registered their next score. Before
this Darragh had wrapped up victory
with five points, coming from Marcus
Miskelly, Eoin Mageean (2) and Gareth
McGovern (2). Liam Sloan, Hugh Murray
and Eoin Mageean added further scores
to seal the win for the away side.
Best for Darragh Cross were Padraig
Mageean, Ryan McGreevy, Hugh Murray
and Eoin Mageean.
