Darragh cruised to victory in a game that will live long in the memory, as

they moved three points clear at the top of Division 3 again. Darragh

dominated their south Down opponents all over the pitch, and from start to

finish. Drumgath didn't get on the scoreboard until eighteen minutes into

the game, and by that stage they had conceded 1-7.

Marcus Miskelly curled over the first point within the opening minute,

before Gary Kennedy beat his man to tap over. Marty Healy pointed soon

after, followed by further points from Kennedy, Padraig Mageean, Gareth

McGovern and a Marcus Miskelly free. Corner-forward Healy then nipped in

front of his man, rounded the keeper and tapped to the empty net to put

Darragh well clear. Gareth McGovern and Tom McMahon added scores to leave

the league leaders in front by 1-9 to 0-3 at half time.

The second half started similarly to the first, with Miskelly rampaging

through the Drumgath defence to curl over delightfully with his left foot.

Peter Swail made his long awaited return from injury, by coming on as sub at

half time, and within minutes he had made a telling contribution. He

gathered the ball just inside his own half and soloed at pace at the

Drumgath defence, right to the edge of the box and rattled it home for a

sensational goal. Points were added from Kennedy (2), Swail and McGovern (2)

, as it became a rout. Marty McGreevy then marauded through from corner back

to get his name on the scoresheet with a point, before half-back Paddy

Murray repeated the feat. Frees from McGovern and Miskelly were added,

before Drumgath got a goal on the counter attack. Hugh Murray and Marcus

Miskelly added points for Darragh, while Drumgath added consolation points

as the game petered out. This was Darragh Cross' best performance of the

year, with strong performances all over the pitch.
