Darragh Cross GAC notes:
The minor match, due to be against
St Pauls was postponed on Sunday due
to
the pitch being unplayable. This
Sunday the minor team travel to
Kilclief.
The reserves had a good work-out on
Sunday evening in a challenge game
against Ballykinlar, running out
1-9 to 1-3 winners. Darragh were
always in
control of the game, with Gareth
McGovern, Fintan Murray and Brian
Canavan
opening up a four point lead by
half time. Ballykinlar got a goal
early in
the second half but a goal from
Mark McMahon and points from Marty
McGreevy,
McGovern and Canavan sealed the
win. Neil McGreevy, Mark Miskelly and
Luke
McGreevy impressed in defence,
while Fintan Murray starred in corner
forward. The scorers were: G
McGovern (0-4), F Murray (0-2), B
Canavan
(0-2), M McGreevy (0-1), M McMahon
(1-0).
Training for senior, reserve and
minor footballers continues tonight at
6.45pm in St Colmcilles in Crossgar
and on Monday night at 7pm in Darragh
Cross.
Training for Under 8s, Under 10s
and Under 12 footballers begins on
Sunday
afternoon from 12 - 1.30pm at
Darragh Cross. Also, training for
Under 14,
Under 16 and minors footballers is
on Friday at 6pm.
The poker night was a success on
Friday night, thanks to all those for
entering. There will be another
poker tournament on Friday April 28th.
Membership money is now due and
will be collected by each team mentor
in the
coming weeks. Alternatively,
payments can be made to Michael
McGreevy or
Hugh Murray. Membership fees for
the year are - ₤25 for an adult,
₤30 for a married couple,
₤5 for juveniles, ₤15 for
a
student and a special offer of
₤60 for the years membership
plus
weekly entry into the club lotto
for a year.
