Darragh Cross Notes - 21st Feb 2006

By Daniel Murray

Darragh Cross GAC notes:

The minor team lost to league leaders Bright on Sunday by 2-2 to 2-6 in

Darragh Cross. A strong Bright team were always in control, and at half time

had built up a 2-3 to 0-0 lead. Darragh were given hope with a strong

opening to the second half with two goals in quick succession, coming from

Conor McGonal and Steven Ward. Bright responded well with two points from

play to open up a five point lead. Gavin Murray scored two points for

Darragh towards the end but although they battled hard, they couldn't get

within three points of Bright, and a late point sealed the win for the

visitors. Best for Darragh were Sean McGouran and Luke McGreevy in defence,

and Paddy Murray and Steven Ward impressed going forward. Darragh Scorers - C McGonal (1-0), S Ward (1-0), G Murray (0-2)
