Darragh Cross 2-13 Bosco 0-8
Darragh Cross made
it five wins out of five in the
league, with their best performance of
the season so far against Newry Bosco.
Darragh started well, with Marcus
Miskelly fisting over for a point
inside the first minute, and for much
of the opening fifteen minutes Bosco
couldn't get out of their own half.
Tom McMahon doubled the lead with a
left footed score, before Darragh
increased this lead with a fine goal.
The ball was won in defence by Fintan
Murray and layed off to Sean Timoney,
he burst through into the Bosco half
slipped it to Padraig Mageean who ran
fifty yards with it, played a one-two
with Marcus Miskelly before rounding
the goalkeeper and slotting it home.
Bosco eventually
came into it with two quick points,
but Dermot Timoney fired over a point
in reply for the home side. Mark
McMahon then got another goal for
Darragh after beating his man to the
ball and shooting to the roof of the
net. Three successive points for Bosco
soon followed, but Mark McMahon got a
point before the half time whistle to
leave Darragh leading by 2-4 to 0-5.
Darragh controlled
the second half, with Tom McMahon
punching over, Dermot Timoney scoring
a long-range point and Sean Timoney
advancing from corner back to score.
Bosco had little in reply, and only
managed three second half points. Gary
Kennedy fisted over another point
before late scores from Mark McMahon,
Marcus Miskelly (3) and Gareth
McGovern sealed an eleven-point win
for Darragh Cross. Mark McMahon,
