Notes.
* The Seniors won their second game
in a row with a very encouraging win
over Newry Mitchels on Monday night.
The final scoreline: Dundrum 3-14 Mitchels
1-08. Training continues tonight at
7.30pm and on Saturday at 6pm.
The first round of the Intermediate
Championship sees Dundrum take on Clann
na Banna in Castlewellan with a 7.30pm
throw-in on Monday. Shane Lowey of Bryansford
is down to referee.
* The Reserves capitulated against Ardglass
on Sunday evening suffering a 14 point
defeat. The final scoreline: Ardglass
4-08 Dundrum 1-03.
* The U-16's lost out to Loughinisland
last week. This Thursday night the team
travel to Teconnaught with a 7.30pm
throw-in.
* The U-14's went down heavily to St
Johns in the East Down Championship.
* A youthful U-12 side lost out to parish
neighbours Ballykinlar in an excellent
League game on Sunday evening. The final
scoreline: Ballykinlar 1-09 Dundrum
0-03.
* Dundrum had three representatives
on the Down U-17 team that beat Cavan
on Saturday. Martin Melville played
corner back whilst Chris Hogg got a
point from right half forward. Conor
McShane hit a double from corner forward.
After the game the team had their meal
with the Down Minors in the Canal Court.
The final scoreline: Cavan 0-10 Down
5-10
* On Friday night Paul McComiskey lined
out at full forward for Down U-16's
and bagged two points. However Antrim
emerged winners by a point on a final
scoreline of: Antrim 2-08 Down 1-10.
* Nora Lennon's Months Mind mass was
very well attended on Friday night.
The large gathering was testament to
the high esteem that Nora was held in.
It was good to see so many players kitted
out in the club colours.
* We are running our annual golf classic
on 10 Sept 2004 at Downpatrick Golf
Club. There are many prizes on the day,
including a chance to win a new Renault
Megane kindly provided by McKibbin Motors,
Clough for a hole-in-one at the Par
3 11th!
There are still some tee offs available
with each fourball costing
£120.
